41 Hotel
London,
41 Buckingham Palace Road, Belgravia
SW1W 0PS
Details
41 is unusually located on the top (5th) floor of the building which was once the grand ballroom of its sister property next-door, The Rubens at the Palace.
Work commenced late 1999 in the building of London's smallest five star hotel comprising of only 30 deluxe rooms, an Executive Lounge with glass conservatory roof and Boardroom offering video-conferencing facilities. A striking black and white theme was chosen with a strong use of mahogany and whilst the design is contemporary it is not minimalist, but totally luxurious.
Technology played a big part with a fully interactive TV/CD/DVD in every room and great audio speakers. All the communications of high speed internet access and telephone handsets added to the great in-room gadgetry. There's an entrance phone on Buckingham Palace Road and guests are immediately checked-in to the hotel and are taken to their room or suite by the Guest Service Manager. The modern bathrooms were all pre-built in Scandinavia and were, one Saturday in March 2001, hoisted by crane into 41 through the massive skylight in the Executive Lounge.
Just six months from the start of the project, 41 opened it's doors on 1st April 2001 and has ever since been growing and increasing it's reputation as one of London's best hotels with magnificent comfort and consistent, personal service.
Located opposite the entrance to The Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, you are only steps away from one of London's top attractions.
Some of the city's best parks surround the area making it very green and colourful in the warmer months. Also not far to the west of the hotel are the shopping havens of Knightsbridge and Kensington.
