Details
As a former working saw mill, Mill Water House stands well off the road in its own large garden and yet is only a short walk from the town centre. It has comfortable en-suite rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, large dining room, ample off-road parking, an undercover area for bicycles and motorbikes, guest garden and barbecue area.
Breakfast is generally between 8am and 9am. Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on day of departure but you are welcome to leave your car/motorbike here while you visit the town.
Within 5 - 10 minutes walk you will find Axminster shops, pubs and restaurants including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls River Cottage local produce store and canteen. On Thursdays there is a general market in the town square and from May to the end of October there is a lunchtime concert at the Church of St. Mary The Virgin.
Mill Water House is some 5 miles inland from the Jurassic Coast and the nearest seaside towns of Lyme Regis and Seaton. There are sandy and pebble beaches both good for swimming, fishing and other water sports within easy reach of Axminster.
If you prefer walking or cycling there are numerous footpaths and lanes that criss cross the countryside enabling you to visit hidden away villages and enjoy stunning views.
